STRATEGIES

To put the vision of the School of IE into reality;
We maintain a balanced curriculum designed to give students a strong theoretical base and oriented towards diverse real world problem solving and application settings.
We provide a learning environment that provides the students with enough challenges and motivation for hard work, team play, intellectual incentives, extra curricular fun and friendly competition.
We maintain a line up of faculty members with diverse skills, balanced in both academic status and working experiences and committed to teaching excellence

GENERAL OBJECTIVE

The general objective of the School of IE is to prepare students for a professional Industrial Engineering career including a leading role in the design, improvement and installation of integrated systems of people, materials, information, equipment and energy. Graduates of the curriculum must have specialized knowledge and skills in the mathematical, physical and social sciences together with the principles and methods of engineering analysis and design to specify, predict and evaluate the results to be obtained from such systems, thereby improving the productivity of systems.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

A graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE) Program:

  • Must be prepared to create, build, improve and install industrial systems which are different, effective as well as robust. These industrial systems are not confined to a manufacturing setting but also cover service systems such as banks, hospitals, utility firms, transportation, schools, government and other productive organizations.
  • Is expected to perform services in the form of consultation, design, preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, implementation and supervision of:
    • Work Standards
    • Statistical Process Control Systems
    • Production Planning and Materials Control Systems
    • Advanced Manufacturing System
    • Manufacturing and Service Facilities
    • Operations Research Models for Production and Operations
    • Information System
  • Is expected to be environmentally conscious.
  • Must be knowledgeable of his/her professional responsibilities on ethics and laws.
  • Must be a total engineer utilizing his/her knowledge of arts, sciences and engineering.
  • Must be prepared for graduate work and research in at least one area of the IE field of practice.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering
